Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer

Adams Bank & Trust is a regional bank with over 110 years of family ownership, currently recruiting for an experienced Bank Secrecy Act Officer. This role is essential to ensuring the bank's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) regulations, OFAC requirements, and related operational risk responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Monitor and review Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) using EZTeller and IES/Director systems
Ensure accurate and timely electronic filing of CTRs
Conduct annual reviews of exempt customers and process Designation of Exempt Persons filings
Perform annual internal Operations Audits for each branch
Participate in the Operations Committee and Risk Committee
Administer the Identity Theft Red Flag Program and support implementation of new risk‑related regulations
Maintain EZTeller and Viewpoint reports to monitor high‑risk and new accounts for suspicious activity
Manage FinCEN 314(a) requests and maintain required documentation
Oversee OFAC suspect match reviews
Conduct BSA/AML/OFAC/CIP training for employees and the Board of Directors
Develop, update, and administer BSA‑related policies, procedures, and risk assessments
Prepare monthly BSA reports for the Board of Directors
Monitor and test employee compliance with BSA requirements
Oversee daily transaction monitoring for suspicious activity
Review and electronically file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in a timely manner
Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the Risk Management function

Required

3-5 years of banking experience required, with strong knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply government regulations
Confident in responding to regulatory examiners and agencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

Preferred

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred, ideally in accounting, finance, or a related field
Prior BSA/AML compliance experience strongly preferred
