Responsibilities
Develop a group acupuncture program
Accept referrals from physicians either in writing or orally. Schedule treatment and/or consults in accordance with Hospital regulations and guidelines
Documents patient treatments by charting in records
Contributes to acupuncture and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results
Acupuncture services are marketed with referral sources and at community events to increase awareness and understanding of this intervention
Maintains patient confidence and protects organization operations by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study
Acupuncturist [Massachusetts License] - Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine
experience practicing acupuncture 2-3 years
Demonstrated knowledge of acupuncture theory, anatomy and physiology
Demonstrated ability to make appropriate judgments of the patient to provide safe acupuncture
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served on assigned units
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with varied populations
Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team
High level of service delivery Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations
Must carry professional liability insurance
Preferred
Master's Degree Related Field of Study
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Various Issuers
experience providing acupuncture in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, community health center, pain clinic or other integrative health care setting 2-3 years
