The Human Resources Generalist will support HR operations, employee relations, onboarding, and compliance with employment laws while contributing to employee engagement and organizational effectiveness initiatives.

Responsibilities
Support the execution of HR programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with MTU objectives
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and HR processes
Maintain accurate, compliant, and confidential employee records
Coordinate and administer end-to-end onboarding processes, including pre-employment requirements, orientation, documentation, and system access
Partner with hiring managers and cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience
Administer offboarding processes, including exit documentation, system access removal, benefits notifications, and exit interviews
Ensure all onboarding and offboarding activities comply with company policy, FAA requirements, and employment regulations
Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations, documentation, and resolution of workplace concerns
Support performance management processes, including coaching documentation and corrective action support
Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture
Support recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate coordination, interviews, and hiring documentation
Assist with new hire orientation scheduling and onboarding follow-up
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Support FAA-related HR compliance requirements as applicable
Assist with audits, reporting, and policy updates
Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and general benefits questions
Support administration of HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping system
Assist with employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and retention programs
Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement efforts
Qualification
Required
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business Management, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
Minimum of one (1) year of Human Resources experience required
Preferred
Familiarity with FAA guidelines or experience in a regulated environment preferred
In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, one (1) year of documented experience as a Human Resources Generalist may be substituted; experience in the Aviation industry is preferred
Prior experience in aviation, manufacturing, or other regulated industries preferred
Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace
