This role involves supporting both the income tax and business tax functions, assisting with compliance, preparing tax work papers, and contributing to process improvement projects.

Responsibilities
Participate in and support various departmental projects, including process improvement initiatives
Assist in the preparation and filing of state and local income and other business-related tax returns
Draft for supervisors review the correspondence with taxing jurisdictions to resolve disputes including filing issues
Assist with the reconciliation of tax-related general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Utilize systems and software, including Alteryx, to gather, process, and analyze financial data for tax reporting
Perform a wide variety of recurring and non-recurring tax functions
Assist with the reconciliation of tax-related general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (in accounting or related field) or previous tax experience is required
General knowledge of accounting and tax principles
Proficient in Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Ability to effectively collaborate with other functional areas; Builds strong relationships with peers, other departments, and managers to best meet company goals and objectives
Preferred
Oracle, Alteryx, and/or Vertex experience a plus
