Research Coordinator

Responsibilities

Collects data in accordance with specific guidelines of research protocols
Reviews and analyzes research related to clinical aspects of hematology, oncology and other pediatric clinical research, to include Graduate Medical Education
Collaborates with healthcare providers, interdisciplinary teams and research personnel to develop, review, implement, manage and evaluate clinical research protocols
Serves as a liaison between the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the department and/or committees
Maintains and updates protocol files for the department in accordance with regulatory procedures
Stays up-to-date on current TRICARE policies and procedures and follows oral and written guidelines for referral, research, clinical trials and appointment management center activities
Coordinates with local department personnel and/or legal office in the development of the support agreements
Drafts and reviews correspondence and verifies protocols are forwarded to appropriate organizations

Required

Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position
One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing clinical research data; reviewing research protocols; and/or working with the Institutional Review Board
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Health, Epidemiology, or Clinical Research
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
You must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
A Personnel Security Investigation is required
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption
A pre-placement medical examination is required
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 44 pounds may be required
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
