Caltrans District 3 is part of the Department of Transportation, focused on improving lives and communities through transportation. The AGPA - Region Support Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, preparing, and monitoring budgetary and fiscal data for the East Bay / Delta Region, while also managing purchasing, contracts, and accounting procedures.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Responsible for the analysis, preparation, and monitoring of the budgetary and fiscal data for the East Bay / Delta Region
Knowledge of purchasing, contracts, coding, encumbrances, expenditures, EFIS and accounting procedures, position tracking and hiring
Acts independently performing critical program workload and must have regular and punctual attendance in order to maintain the budgetary requirements
Some travel may be required

Required

Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Analyst II exam
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment

Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent

All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position

Preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare detailed written correspondence, in a clear and logical manner
Ability to present ideas and information, both orally and in writing
Ability to determine priorities and maintain accurate records
Good organizational skills and be able to discern what information is needed
Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other databases
Knowledge and adherence to Best Hiring Practices rules and regulations as outlined by the Department of Human Resources and Bargaining units Memorandum of Understanding
Ability to effectively identify, analyze, and evaluate information
Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to conduct business in a professional manner
Ability to reason logically and to utilize a variety of analytical techniques to resolve problems, develop and evaluate alternatives
Ability to perform professionally, follow oral and written directions, evaluate directions accurately and take effective action
