Financial Counselor - Full Time
Pembroke Hospital is a 120-bed acute care, inpatient behavioral health facility located south of Boston, in Pembroke, MA. The Financial Counselor is responsible for verifying patients’ insurance coverage, communicating changes effectively, and assisting patients with eligibility for government programs.

Responsibilities
Verifies patient insurance daily
Updates patient account with changes
Communicates with internal staff on insurance changes promptly
Keeps the hospital informed of high medical responsibilities and changes in insurance
Updates and delivers morning census reports
Assist patients will eligibility for government programs
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Insurance Verification, Inpatient or Outpatient facility; Preference given to Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital
Excellent interpersonal skills
Professional and caring demeanor
Excellent phone and customer services skills
Good organizational skills
Basic to moderate knowledge of Insurance procedures and terminology
Basic knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnosis and treatment
Basic to moderate knowledge of Billing procedures and terminology
Ability to problem-solve and exercise sound time management
Preferred
Associate degree in business, finance, healthcare administration or related field
