Assistant Professor of Sports Communication and Public Relations
Point Park University is seeking a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication to teach sports communication and public relations courses. The role involves advising and mentoring students and contributing to the mission and values of the School of Communication.

Responsibilities
Teach sports communication and public relations courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level
Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Demonstrate a commitment and ability to serve the mission and values of SOC, including scholarship
Teach three graduate classes or four undergraduate classes per semester
Opportunities for course releases for scholarly activity and service to the university
Qualification
Required
Terminal degree, Ph.D. or MFA, in mass communication, public relations, or a related field
ABD applicants will be considered but the degree must be completed within two years of start date
At least two years of professional work experience in sports communication or public relations
Successful track record of effective mentoring
Adept at teaching and working with diverse communities of students, faculty, and staff
Express ways the candidate's teaching and scholarship will complement the School of Communication and its mission
Preferred
Experience in advertising, broadcasting or digital journalism
Track record of success in working with diverse communities of clients, students, and colleagues
