Clinical ETL Developer
Atorus is seeking a Clinical ETL Developer to transform clinical trial data into analysis-ready datasets. The role involves designing and implementing ETL pipelines, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Design and implement ETL pipelines to transform raw Snowflake data (e.g., Subject, Labs, Adverse Events) into standardized, analysis-ready ADaM formats
Develop SQL- and dbt-based transformations aligned with defined CDISC data models and study specifications
Define and maintain transformation logic and mapping documentation between source and target schemas
Generate and manage synthetic datasets for unit testing and validation of ETL processes
Perform edge case testing, debugging, and data validation to ensure robustness and accuracy
Work within a modern data stack: Snowflake (database), dbt (transformation), Dagster (orchestration)
Build reusable transformation frameworks that scale across studies and data domains
Collaborate with upstream (e.g., Veeva data ingestion) and downstream application teams to ensure schema and process alignment
Support development of subject-level datasets for safety, efficacy, and medical monitoring analyses
Implement transformations supporting regulatory standards and analytical needs
Ensure consistency with CDISC/ADaM standards and internal governance models
Implement and manage ETL orchestration and scheduling using Dagster or equivalent workflow tools
Participate in CI/CD workflows, testing automation, and version control via Git
Contribute to continuous improvement of data pipeline observability, monitoring, and performance tuning
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in ETL or data engineering roles in the clinical research / pharma domain
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with dbt for modular data transformation
Hands-on experience with Snowflake (including schema design, optimization, and data modeling)
Familiarity with Dagster, Airflow, or similar orchestration frameworks
Understanding of CDISC ADaM standards and clinical data lifecycle is highly desirable
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices for ETL deployment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams (clinical programming, data science, and IT)
