Responsibilities

Oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal financial policies and procedures
Prepare and present financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, and executive-level financial analysis for senior leadership and governing bodies
Lead the annual budget process, including development, implementation, monitoring, and variance analysis
Provide strategic financial guidance and decision support to department leaders and operational teams
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while promoting continuous improvement and best practices
Coordinate with external auditors and manage all aspects of the annual audit process to ensure timely and accurate completion
Design, implement, and refine financial policies, controls, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Support strategic planning initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and risk assessment
Monitor cash flow, investments, and debt obligations to maintain organizational financial health
Identify financial risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies
Oversee grant and restricted-fund management, ensuring accurate allocation, compliance, and reporting
Partner closely with Human Resources and other administrative departments to optimize payroll, benefits, and financial operations
Support ERP systems usage, optimization, and implementation initiatives as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior leadership responsibilities
Demonstrated expertise in full-cycle accounting and financial management
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting
Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage executive stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership, team development, and change-management capabilities
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred

CPA or MBA strongly preferred
Experience managing grants, restricted funds, or external funding compliance is preferred
ERP implementation or optimization experience highly desirable
