Responsibilities
Proactively manage a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
Execute collection strategies to reduce past-due balances and improve overall days sales outstanding (DSO)
Conduct regular reviews of aging reports to identify risks, trends, and high-priority accounts
Initiate and lead customer outreach via email and phone to drive invoice resolution and cash receipt
Investigate and resolve payment delays, billing discrepancies, and disputes in collaboration with internal teams
Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities, customer communications, and resolution outcomes
Provide weekly and monthly reporting on collections performance, aging trends, and cash receipts
Recommend enhancements to collections policies, procedures, and controls to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Develop and document standardized collections processes that can be leveraged by the AR team and supported by future system implementations
Support ad hoc finance initiatives related to cash flow optimization and AR process improvement
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience in accounts receivable or collections, with over 5 years in a fast-paced or complex environment
Demonstrated success in cash collections and reducing aged receivable balances
Strong understanding of AR aging, credit and collections best practices, and cash flow management
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend actionable solutions
Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
