The American Public Health Association is offering The Nation's Health internship for students seeking hands-on experience in journalism. Interns will report stories, assist with newsgathering, and contribute to various storytelling platforms while gaining valuable experience in newspaper production and public relations.

Responsibilities
Writing news stories for the monthly print issue of the newspaper or for its web version
Developing story ideas
Attending press conferences and congressional hearings
Responsible for the newspaper's weekly online news quiz
Contribute to multiple storytelling platforms
Assist with news releases, news tracking and other public relations work
Working on APHA's social media tools, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
Writing blog posts and working on group projects each semester
Produced numerous articles, news quizzes and a solid package of clips
Qualification
Required
Students looking for hands-on experience in a fast-paced journalism environment
Ability to work in the US during the internship
Experience with deadlines
Familiarity with Associated Press/journalism style
Prior writing and reporting experience
Willingness to learn
Minimum of 28 hours a week availability
