Principal Tech. Prog. Manager, Amazon Leo Customer Terminals
Amazon is launching the Amazon Leo low Earth orbit satellite network aimed at delivering reliable broadband connectivity to underserved customers. The Principal Tech. Prog. Manager will manage the lifecycle of complex hardware device portfolios and their integrated software systems, ensuring technical excellence and driving product delivery across multiple organizations.

Responsibilities
Operating with complete autonomy where business and architectural strategy may not yet be defined, you independently define program strategy, provide inputs to OP1/OP2 planning, and own cross-organizational goals
You understand technical program management, software and hardware engineering best practices, using this knowledge to assess development processes, test plans, and operations/maintenance requirements
You work with teams to improve concurrent project delivery while streamlining or eliminating excess process, influencing teams to decouple from dependencies and eliminate architecture problems that stifle innovation or cause user dissatisfaction
You enable teams to work independently through architecture and organizational changes that minimize repeated engineering effort while maintaining competitive advantages in both hardware performance and software operational excellence
When confronted with discordant views, you find the best path forward and build consensus to influence others
You actively recruit and develop the TPM community through mentoring, provide constructive feedback to engineering, management, and other peers, and routinely deliver the right outcomes with complete independence
Qualification
Required
10+ years of technical product or program management experience
7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Knowledge of industry technologies in program or product domain (e.g., hardware, network, software, systems) and how to apply those technologies to solve problems
Experience in leading complex, large-scale, IT, technical or engineering programs
Experience comfort with ambiguity
Experience leading complex programs with significant change impact across organizational boundaries
Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
Preferred
Master's degree, or MBA in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Experience working with fast-moving, high-performance teams and driving innovative solutions tailored to unique business environments
8+ Experience in Aviation, Automotive or Consumer Electronics Program Management
