Finance Director
The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is seeking an experienced Finance Director for the Village of Tinley Park. The Finance Director will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and treasury functions, while leading a professional team and managing a significant budget.
Responsibilities
Oversee all financial operations for the Village, including budgeting, accounting, treasury functions, tax levy preparation, payroll, purchasing, risk management, debt administration, ERP systems, and grant compliance
Lead a professional team of 10 full-time and 3 part-time staff
Manage a $177.4 million total budget, including a $72.5 million General Fund and a $40 million capital program
Continue refinement of a new ERP system and fill the vacant Assistant Finance Director position
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible public finance experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory role
GAAP and governmental accounting
Budget development and long-term financial planning
Tax levies, TIFs, debt issuance, and treasury management
ERP systems and financial reporting
Collaborative leadership across departments and with elected officials
Effective communicator
Hands-on leader who values integrity, transparency, and service excellence
Preferred
CPA
Master's Degree
Municipal auditing background welcomed
