Litigation Associate
Sullivan Law Offices is a collaborative firm based in Southlake, Texas, seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to support senior counsel in managing litigation cases. The role involves preparing for depositions, representing clients in court, and conducting legal research.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Billing Requirements: 1,920 hours per year
Report 5 days per week to the office; after 1-2 years with the team, you will have the opportunity to hybrid 3 days per month
Support Senior counsel in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial
Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations
Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records
Conducting legal research and factual investigation
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the State Bar of Texas
0-3 years of experience as a litigation associate, preferably with experience supporting commercial litigation efforts
More senior candidates should have experience managing the various aspects of a commercial lawsuit from start to finish. More junior candidates should have an exceptional academic record
Strong research and writing skills
Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Willingness to travel when necessary
