Responsibilities
Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory
Design a complete and complex framework, system or product
Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes
Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses
Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems
Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives
Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use
Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles
Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field
Experience in performing hardware verification
Experience in CPU architecture, SOC, or system architecture
Experience in functional verification of microprocessors
Experience in design flows and methodologies used for chip verification
Experience in Unix or Linux environments
Experience in OS kernel and systems development
Experience in server systems and OS development
Experience in virtualization
Experience in software debugging using macOS, Linux, or Unix
Experience in Git
