Customer Care Coordinator

The Midtown Group is a small, woman-owned business providing staffing services nationwide. They are seeking a Customer Care Coordinator to support the Mobility Services Department by providing administrative and customer support, particularly in paratransit operations and customer interactions.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the Mobility Services Department
Interact with paratransit customers and potential applicants, family members, human service providers, and advocacy organizations to provide general information regarding services, policies, and procedures
Support daily paratransit operations by performing routine administrative duties
Open, distribute, and process departmental mail
Staff the paratransit information telephone line; answer and screen incoming calls, responding to general inquiries or referring callers to appropriate staff
Gather information, compile responses, and follow up on customer requests and inquiries as needed
Count, maintain, and distribute pass, ticket, and merchandise inventory; process sales accurately
Promote a positive customer experience by assisting individuals with service information, including ticket purchases, eligibility processes, and lost and found inquiries
Assess customer needs and communicate information clearly, concisely, and professionally using strong oral and written communication skills
Take proactive steps to maintain positive customer experiences and resolve issues effectively
Inform customers of new products, services, and features
Collaborate with team members across departments to resolve issues and exceed customer expectations
Operate a multi-line phone system, multi-display computer workstation, copier, and other office equipment; use email and software applications to manage inquiries
Handle customer contacts with accuracy, empathy, and professionalism, ensuring correct information is relayed to Customer Care personnel

Required

High School Diploma or GED required
Three (3) years of experience in a professional or office environment
Knowledge of transit or scheduling software (e.g., Trapeze) and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and current office technologies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy and professionalism
Ability to communicate effectively using multiple methods, including email, voicemail, and written correspondence
Ability to lift heavy or bulky packages and tolerate extended periods of walking and driving
This position requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects
Fingering: Frequent typing, data entry, and handling of small items
Hearing: Ability to perceive and understand normal conversation and detailed verbal information, with or without accommodation
Mental Acuity: Ability to make sound decisions using logic and deductive reasoning
Repetitive Motion: Frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
Speaking/Talking: Ability to clearly and accurately convey detailed instructions and information verbally
Visual Acuity: Close visual acuity required for data entry, document preparation, computer use, and extensive reading
