Responsibilities
Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by location
Monitor alarms, cameras, and other building systems as assigned, and report unusual activity per post orders
Control access through designated entrances by checking identification, authorizations, and/or visitor logs in accordance with site requirements
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and/or public response personnel when needed
Investigate and document security-related incidents, hazards, and policy violations, and complete detailed shift reports and activity logs
Support loss prevention efforts by observing for suspicious behavior, potential tampering, and/or unsecured doors and gates, and help to deter unauthorized access
Provide directions and assistance within the facility, including escorting visitors and/or vendors when required by policy
Operate radios, phones, and other communication equipment to receive and relay information, requests for service, and incident updates
Participate in drills, briefings, and ongoing training as directed by Allied Universal and site leadership
Qualification
Required
Be at least 21 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred
Customer service experience is preferred
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred
