Research Data Analyst
University of Utah Health Research is seeking a Research Data Analyst to assist with organizing and analyzing research data while ensuring accuracy and integrity. The role includes performing data entry, preparing visualizations and reports, and collaborating with senior analysts on statistical methods for research projects.

Responsibilities
Execute intermediate-level data analyses, including regression and multivariate methods, to inform research objectives
Proficient in the use of software including REDCap, R, Python, SAS , or SPSS to manipulate data, create visualizations, and generate summaries
Write significant portions of research reports and contribute to study designs by advising on data collection and analysis methodologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data aligns with project goals
Review business requirements given on assignment or may gather requirements and seek clarification from end users for straightforward analytical tasks
Document methods used and analyses performed as necessary
Escalate complex issues to senior data analysts or PI for further action
Develop moderately advanced analytical and reporting tools
Follow standard procedures for analytical and reporting tool development
Support reporting and decision-making
Integrate data from one or multiple sources into analytical tools
Provide technical support on customized analytics and reporting tools
Qualification
Required
1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience)
Research Data Analyst I: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree
Research Data Analyst II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience
Research Data Analyst III: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience
Research Data Analyst IV: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience
Research Data Analyst V: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 10 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 8 years of directly related work experience
Preferred
Masters degree preferred
High level of experience in observational research, clinical trials, and data visualization
