Responsibilities
Assist the Digital and Media Relations Manager on a variety of projects
Write a variety of materials such as news releases, media advisories, social media posts, talking points, web content, blogs, etc
Work on several county communications campaigns
Attend community meetings or events that would be outside of the office
Perform other work as required
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.8
Able to participate in the full 10-week program
Exhibit a commitment to public service
Genuine interest in learning about public administration
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required
Studying for a degree in journalism, mass communications or marketing
Interested in government communication
Good writing skills
Ability to write for a variety of different audiences and materials
Able to meet deadlines
Be a team player
Conduct research and fact check
