Responsibilities

Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Act as Employee Relations advisor regarding Employee Assistant Program (EAP) referral, suspected impairment, disability accommodation, discrimination, retaliation, union activity, separation, severance agreements, etc
Manage and monitor quarterly and annual performance evaluation cycles
First level of response for all compensation-related questions submitted by leaders and staff and collaborate with Total Rewards to address compensation-related issues
Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers
In partnership with Legal, assist international employees with VISA assignments and related HR matters
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Design, track, and trend engagement and retention analytics, and propose systems and programs to meet organizational objectives such as employer-of-choice. Support client group with engagement initiatives
Partner with payroll, HRIS, Compensation and Benefit functions as needed to provide solutions for clients
Collaborate with HR Manager and HR Compliance Manager to draft and recommend policies for Employee Handbooks, FAQ sheets, and site-specific procedures. Periodically audit Employee Handbook policies, procedures, and practices for compliance with federal and state laws
Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
Collaborate with internal corporate stakeholders to identify training needs for teams and individuals; Evaluate training programs; Suggest new HR Strategies

Required

Three (3) years of Human Resources Generalist experience required
Two (2) years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Behavioral Science, Human Resources Management or equivalent required
Knowledge of employee relations, conflict resolution, compensation, and internal complaint investigations
Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
Working knowledge of Human Resources policies, procedures, compliance, and practices
Working knowledge in developing, executing, and maintaining Human Resources projects and programs
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
Ability to investigate and research laws and regulations and to develop implementation and messaging plans
Ability to coach, counsel, and problem solve with others
Ability to deal constructively with conflict and use good judgment
Ability to multi-task and prioritize while managing tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Ability to use business savvy and proactive thinking to ensure we're anticipating needs
Ability to pay meticulous attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to adapt to change working in a fast-paced environment
Intuitive people skills and a courteous and professional demeanor

Preferred

Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
Experience working in a multi-state organization preferred
Human Resources certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred
