Responsibilities

Support the Director in the execution of the enterprise data control strategy by leading the identification and remediation of data control gaps across critical data domains
Design and implement effective data controls (preventative and detective), leveraging enterprise risk and control frameworks such as Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA)
Partner with business units, technology teams, Business Unit data offices, data stewards, and compliance stakeholders to understand data flows, identify risk points, and define control implementation strategies
Contribute to the maintenance of a centralized data control inventory ensuring alignment with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and risk appetite
Work closely with the product and tech teams to define requirements for automated control monitoring, dashboards, and reporting solutions
Assist in the preparation and delivery of control performance metrics including KPIs and KRIs to key stakeholders
Participate in internal and external audits or regulatory reviews, providing documentation and responses regarding the data control environment
Support training and awareness initiatives by developing educational content related to data controls and best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Data Management, Risk, Business Administration, or related field
5+ years of experience in data governance, data risk, internal controls, or audit in the financial services or highly regulated industry
Experience with control management including designing and implementing data controls and ensuring audit readiness
2+ years of experience leading teams or mentoring junior staff
5+ years of experience with enterprise risk and control frameworks such as RCSA/PRSA or COSO

Preferred

Working knowledge of financial services regulations and data compliance requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, GDPR)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Effective verbal and written communication with the ability to present data and control findings to non-technical stakeholders
Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra)
Experience working with data reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CDMP, or equivalent are a plus
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines in a dynamic, matrixed environment
