Responsibilities

Operate and handle mechanical equipment such as boilers and stationary engines
Monitor equipment and observe water, fuel, and air levels data
Maintain equipment as needed
Conduct all necessary tests to ensure equipment functions correctly
Diagnose, repair, and operate central chillers, compressed-air equipment, waste trim equipment, and process vacuum equipment
Test and maintain fire sprinkler systems
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

HVACRefrigeration theoryBlueprint interpretationMechanical equipment operationDiagnostic skills

Required

Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program in HVAC
Must be able to interpret and apply blueprints and complicated equipment control diagrams
Thorough working knowledge of refrigeration theory
