Generalist Obstetrician - Gynecologist Leadership Track
Marin Community Clinics is a multi-clinic network providing integrated health services to nearly 40,000 individuals annually. The Lead Gynecologist Physician will provide medical leadership for Gynecology and Reproductive Health services, while also maintaining an obstetrical practice and overseeing clinical protocols and staff development activities.

Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care in High-Risk Obstetrics antepartum, and postpartum care
Provides direct patient care for Gynecological patients, both outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures as needed
Provides direct inpatient care through MarinHealth Medical Center OB/GYN hospitalist program (recommended)
Develops, reviews, and implements clinical practice guidelines and protocols for OB/GYN department, with focus on GYN services
Facilitates staff development activities and training for OB/GYN staff, and facilitates bimonthly reproductive health meetings
Monitors clinical practice and competence by developing and participating in medical record audits, peer review, and other practice review activities
Represents MCC OB/GYN leadership at internal and community-based meetings, as delegated
May participate in MarinHealth Medical Center OB/GYN Hospitalist Program Quality Improvement (eg Perinatal Review Committee), CME, MarinHealth OB/GYN Department meetings and other educational activities
Supports clinical practice of MDs and Advanced Practice Clinicians providing OB/GYN services, including sharing 5 day/week coverage of EPIC Inbasket and availability for phone or in-person urgent consultations with other OB/GYN MDs
May facilitate and coordinate medical student/resident training opportunities
Participates in MCC QA/QI and risk management programs, as applicable
Helps optimize Electronic Health Record women’s health templates, as needed
Educates providers and ensures compliance with FPACT, CDP and other state insurance programs’ training, documentation and billing requirements

Qualification
Required
A valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine in the specialized disciplines of obstetrics and gynecology
Active Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology
A current BLS certification
3+ years of independent practice experience in OBGYN
A current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise
Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and HHS/HRSA regulations
Knowledge of the structure and operations of community health centers
Competency in dealing with people of various cultures and social status
Ability to lead, advise, and train clinical professionals, including non-physician providers and/or students in area of expertise
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
Ability to navigate and maintaining effective working relationships with fellow leaders, employees, patients, external partners and the general public as a representative of MCC
Preferred
Leadership and or supervisory skills highly desired
Ability to Speak Spanish, or an interest and willingness to learn, is highly desired
