Hotel, Motel, & Resort Desk Clerk

Responsibilities
Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems
Issue room keys and escort instructions to bellhops
Verify customers' credit, and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation
Post charges, such as those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers, manually or by using computers
Review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process
Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary
Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests
Transmit and receive messages, using telephones or telephone switchboards
Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or entertainment
Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
Perform bookkeeping activities, such as balancing accounts and conducting nightly audits
Clean and maintain lobby and common areas, such as restocking supplies and watering plants
Prepare for basic food service, such as setting up continental breakfast or coffee and tea supplies
Date-stamp, sort, and rack incoming mail and messages
Arrange tours, taxis, or restaurant reservations for customers
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
Must be able to walk up and down stairs
Must be able to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and move continuously during working hours
Day, evening, weekday and weekend shifts are required
No specific skills, licenses/certificates/certifications or previous experience required

Housing is available and optional.
Cost of housing, if accepted, ranges from $195 to $350 per biweekly pay period.
The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work.
Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work.
The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek.
The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable outbound transportation and subsistence costs during the last workweek.
Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
