InternGILZ LLC is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to help develop and refine the electronics behind their next-generation helmet system. This role offers hands-on experience with microcontrollers, sensors, and prototyping tools while collaborating closely with software and mechanical teams.

Responsibilities
Assist with breadboard bench testing involving PM2.5 sensors, PWM-controlled blower fans, and microcontroller systems
Test, debug, and validate electronic components integrated with a companion mobile application
Configure electronics into testable units using 3D-printed enclosures
Wire and integrate environmental sensors, fans, and controllers using platforms such as ESP32 or Arduino
Support accurate sensor readings and reliable data transmission to the mobile application
Collaborate with software developers to troubleshoot real-time data flow
Evaluate power consumption, battery performance, and connectivity stability such as Bluetooth Low Energy
Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and signal reliability
Assist with wiring diagrams, testing protocols, and troubleshooting documentation
Log experiments, test results, risks, and lessons learned to support iterative design improvements
Qualification
Required
Current resident of New Mexico
Currently pursuing an Electrical Engineering or related degree and within six months of graduation, or
Graduated within the past six months and seeking hands-on industry experience
Preferred
Hands-on experience with breadboarding, soldering, and basic electronics assembly
Familiarity with microcontroller platforms such as ESP32 or Arduino
Comfort working with PWM control, basic fan control, and sensor calibration
Basic understanding of power management and battery systems
Bonus experience with 3D-printed enclosures, app-connected devices, or Bluetooth modules
