Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain Python applications on Open Systems (Linux/Unix) platforms
Build backend services, batch jobs, and automation scripts using Python
Design and implement RESTful APIs and system integrations
Work with databases to perform data processing, validation, and transformations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and infrastructure
Perform application monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support
Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and SDLC processes
Optimize application performance and system resource usage
Qualification
Required
Strong experience in Python (3.x) development
Hands-on experience with Open Systems environments (Linux/Unix)
Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash/Korn)
Experience with REST APIs and backend service development
Good understanding of OS concepts: processes, memory, file systems, networking
Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
Experience working in production support or enterprise systems
