Responsibilities
Review and analyze commercial real estate underwriting models, including DCFs and pro formas, for analytical rigor and market realism
Evaluate investment committee materials, acquisition memos, and deal rationales for institutional-quality standards
Assess risk-adjusted returns, capital structures, debt assumptions, and exit strategies
Benchmark and score underwriting packages against standardized investment criteria
Provide clear, structured written feedback highlighting gaps in assumptions, pricing, and risk analysis
Contribute expertise across asset classes such as multifamily, industrial, office, retail, and specialty real estate
Support the calibration of underwriting quality standards for training and evaluation purposes
Qualification
Required
Strong experience in commercial real estate acquisitions, underwriting, asset management, REPE, REITs, or structured real estate finance
Proficiency in reviewing or building advanced Excel and ARGUS underwriting models
Expertise in leases, rent rolls, T-12s, operating expenses, CapEx, debt sizing, and return metrics (IRR, EMx, CoC)
Ability to assess real asset economics, comparable market data, and complex capital structures
Experience working within hedge fund or asset management environments
Excellent analytical skills with strong written and verbal communication
High attention to detail and adherence to institutional reporting standards
