Responsibilities
Provide technical, engineering, and programmatic support to one or more R&D programs
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams consisting of government organizations, contractors, national laboratories, and commercial vendors to provide expertise during the lifecycle of R&D programs
Apply systems engineering principles to support the development and deployment of Rad/Nuc detection systems
Support the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle process, including requirements gathering, system deployment, and operational phases
Assist in the development, release, and management of solicitations, such as Broad Agency Announcements (BAA), Grants/Cooperative Agreement Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO), and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) competitive bids
Leverage expertise in program/project management, solicitation administration, and technical engineering to support R&D initiatives
Qualification
Required
BS and 9 years overall experience (4 years experience in lieu of degree)
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship
Proven experience supporting technical acquisition and research programs from conceptualization through deployment
Expertise in systems engineering, including requirements definition, development, deployment, and operations
Hands-on experience with Rad/Nuc detection systems
Working knowledge of the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle and relevant processes
Demonstrated experience in solicitation development and management, including BAAs, NOFOs, and SBIRs
Preferred
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work alongside diverse scientific and engineering teams
Familiarity with government acquisition and R&D program management processes
Advanced degree in a relevant field such as engineering, physics, or a related hard science discipline
