Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for dredging and marine construction projects
Estimate private industrial marine work and public-sector projects such as ports, municipalities, and federal projects
Review and analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
Perform quantity take-offs for hydraulic and mechanical dredging, pipelines, discharge lines, turbidity curtains, disposal areas, shoreline protection, and marine structures
Develop pricing for labor (including prevailing wages when applicable), equipment, materials, fuel, logistics, and subcontractors
Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor quotations
Support means and methods development in coordination with operations
Prepare bid assumptions, clarifications, exclusions, and preliminary schedules
Assist with change orders, cost revisions, and post-award reviews
Maintain and refine historical cost data and estimating models
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience in dredging, marine construction, or heavy civil construction
Proven experience with marine construction and dredging projects
Strong understanding of marine equipment, production rates, logistics, and constructability
Proficiency in Excel and construction estimating tools
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience with private industrial marine projects
Familiarity with public procurement processes
Knowledge of prevailing wage/Davis-Bacon requirements
Hydraulic dredging exposure
A degree in Engineering or Construction Management
