Sr. Mechanical Engineer
ERMCO-ECI is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for the independent design, development, and optimization of dry type transformers. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and mentoring of less experienced engineers, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to product performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Independently design and develop mechanical systems and components for distribution dry type transformers, PDUs, Reactors and Special transformers, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA) and customer specifications
Conduct engineering analyses to optimize product performance, cost, and efficiency
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and efficiency in the design process
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed, though leadership is not a primary focus of this role
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
More than 5 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering, with a focus on transformer or related product design
Proficiency with design and analysis tools, including electrical and thermal analysis software (e.g., OPS Transformer Design Software, SolidWorks)
Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA) and regulatory requirements for transformers or components
