Postdoctoral Scholar

Responsibilities
Implementing protocols for evidence synthesis research data collection, data management, data analysis, and data presentation
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, such as advisory board members and national education leaders, to ensure institute products are user-centered, demand-driven, and yield actionable insights
Analyzing data, interpreting results, and disseminating evidence to researchers and decision-makers (e.g., authoring/co-authoring technical reports, peer-reviewed journal articles, and policy briefs; delivering conference presentations and webinars)
Assisting institute faculty with guidance for and oversight of undergraduate and graduate students at the institute
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field by the start of the position, including education, psychology, prevention science, or quantitative methodology
Evidence of research experience (e.g., scholarly publications, presentations, grant submissions)
Coursework and training in quantitative methods (e.g., regression modelling, data science, structural equation modelling, growth modelling)
Experience with statistical analysis software, including one or more of the following: SPSS, SAS, Stata, Mplus, and/or R
Expertise with advanced data management and quantitative methodologies
Ability to work as part of a collaborative scientific team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent organization, listening, information gathering, and decision-making skills
Ability to convey information to key collaborators and utilize appropriate communication channels
Ability to stay calm under project deadline pressures and identify trends for relevant solutions
Ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds
Ability to build relationships within and outside the institute
Effective organization and problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with a dynamic team
Strong working knowledge of personal computers with formal training and/or employment experience is preferred
Position requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and using the internet
Preferred
Experience participating in evidence synthesis research projects in the fields of education, psychology, or related behavioral or social sciences
Experience participating in knowledge mobilization or stakeholder engagement projects
Experience conducting statistical analyses in R
Experience using evidence synthesis software such as DistillerSR, SRDR+, Covidence, FileMaker Pro, or similar software
Experience delivering conference presentations
