Responsibilities

You will be responsible for utilizing our billing database to create and send client invoices, responding to client billing questions, processing payments and following up on receivables
This position is an excellent opportunity to join our firm, and our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, clerical and communication skills, and demonstrate a high level of professional discretion
Set up new client matters in the firm’s billing software
Track and enter costs to be billed to clients
Generate and send invoices and statements
Report on client trust/retainer account balances
Receive and process payments
Follow up with clients to ensure payment of delinquent invoices
Maintain spreadsheets and generate reports regarding receivables
Process reimbursements of unused retainers
Other responsibilities as assigned
Our Accounting Department is a key part of our daily operations
This position requires a focused individual who is punctual, reliable, and who can efficiently solicit, and process information gathered from all other Departments in the firm, and who is at ease in communicating tactfully and professionally with clients regarding their invoices and their payments

Required

Proven experience in billing functions in a legal setting
Proficiency in Tabs3 Billing and PracticeMaster case management software
Problem-solving skills to address billing and accounting issues
Knowledge of legal and financial compliance standards
Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Access
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in file maintenance
Strong administrative and clerical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Ability to analyze data and identify trends to enhance billing processes
General accounting knowledge and software experience
