Qualification
Required
Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or related field
Four (4) to six (6) years' experience in purchasing/procurement, contract administration, project management, or business operations
Equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position
Knowledge of laws relating to municipal government purchasing/procurement (e.g., Uniform Procurement Act and other procurement laws and regulations)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of obligations of confidentiality
Professionalism and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Ability to handle multiple, important projects and deadlines simultaneously and ability to prioritize appropriately
Strong time and project management abilities
Thoroughness and attention to detail
Designation as a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official, or the ability to obtain full certification within one (1) year of employment
Preferred
Municipal work experience
Purchasing/procurement experience in a municipal setting
