Research Specialist (Hourly) - Cancer Center
The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is a leading urban public research institution, and they are seeking a Research Specialist to contribute to the design and delivery of research projects in the Cancer Center. This role involves overseeing data management, employing statistical techniques for data analysis, and communicating findings to stakeholders to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities
Oversee data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, or external systems, and ensuring its accuracy and completeness. This involves cleaning, organizing, and transforming the data into a suitable format for analysis
Employ statistical techniques, data mining, and data visualization tools to analyze large datasets. Identifying patterns, trends, and correlations within the data to extract actionable insights and make recommendations
Create and generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present the analyzed data in a clear and concise manner
Communicate findings to stakeholders, including management, departments, or clients, to support decision-making processes
Develop and implement data models, structures, and architectures to facilitate efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis
Ensure data quality by implementing data validation processes, resolving data inconsistencies, and maintaining data integrity throughout the organization
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required
A minimum of 3 years related research experience
Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods
Preferred
Master's degree in social science
