Program Compliance Assistant for the Division of Emergency Housing Services (EHS)

The NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development is dedicated to promoting quality and affordability in housing for New Yorkers. The Program Compliance Assistant will support the compliance of the Emergency Housing Services program by performing administrative tasks, monitoring workflows, and ensuring adherence to regulations and internal policies.

Responsibilities

Monitoring various trackers and databases
Generating various reports as directed by the Program Director
Reviewing program activities against established compliance policies and procedures
Identifying non-compliant activities to the Program Director
Working with staff members to ensure all required documents and records are in compliance with program rules
Assisting the Program Compliance team with periodic audits by performing various administrative tasks
Reviewing submitted termination files to ensure accuracy and relevance
Reviewing various reports for deficiencies and reporting those items to the Program Compliance team
Assist the Program Compliance team with special projects as assigned by Program Director
Respond to inquiries concerning facility and or staff complaints
Monitor the EHS-Remote inbox for reasonable accommodation requests and respond accordingly
Assist with compliance staff training

Required

High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' above
Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in compliance, case management or administrative support in a social service setting
