OPS Academic Success Coach

The University of Florida's Office of Academic Support is seeking part-time OPS Academic Success Coaches to provide guidance and support to students. The role involves individualized academic coaching, promoting student success, and assisting with academic planning and goal setting.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching using a case management approach
Coordinate academic support services and programs, including academic interventions, workshops, and advising
Monitor and track student academic progress, maintain accurate documentation, and update data using relevant software
Build rapport with students to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes engagement
Serve as a resource for OAS-affiliated undergraduate scholars or connect them with appropriate referrals
Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with students
Promote OAS programs and services to undergraduate students across UF
Assist with the creation of Academic Enrichment Workshops (AEWs)
Support the training and leadership development of OAS student leaders
Perform additional duties as assigned to advance OAS programs and initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree

Preferred

Graduate student or degree in education, counseling, or a related field
Experience mentoring or coaching students
Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation, limited income, or students with disabilities
Ability to apply student development theories to academic support, coaching, advising, and retention efforts
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong computer skills and the ability to learn student database systems
Demonstrated commitment to student success initiatives
At least one year of experience in academic or student affairs
Working knowledge of student development theory
