Assistant Professor of Practice - Mechanical Engineering
Western New England University is inviting applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Practice position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, starting in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising student research, and contributing to curriculum development and departmental service.

Show strong commitment to teaching excellence and student mentorship
Supervise student research at the undergraduate and master’s levels
Establish collaborative relations with local/national industries through industry-sponsored research and projects
Contribute to curriculum development and accreditation activities

Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with expertise in the area of Solid Mechanics/Machine Design or related area
Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, mentoring, and service
Strong commitment to teaching excellence and student mentorship
Ability to supervise student research at the undergraduate and master's levels
Capability to establish collaborative relations with local/national industries through industry-sponsored research and projects
Experience in contributing to curriculum development and accreditation activities
Willingness to provide service to the department, college, university, and professional community
