IT Specialist

Parallel Systems is pioneering autonomous battery-electric rail vehicles designed to transform freight transportation. The IT Specialist will support and operate the company’s internal IT systems, ensuring the reliability and execution of the corporate IT environment across offices and teams.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain corporate IT infrastructure, including office networking, conference room systems, end-user devices, and cloud-based tools
Execute network and infrastructure improvement projects in partnership with IT leadership
Provision, manage, and deprovision access to corporate SaaS applications and internal systems
Perform hands-on, on-site technical work including installing, configuring, repairing, and replacing computers, peripherals, network equipment, and software
Provide responsive technical support to employees via Slack, email, phone, and in person, meeting defined service level expectations
Support employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing devices, configuring access, and ensuring timely setup and deprovisioning
Manage corporate devices and assist with operation of internal MDM services across endpoints
Implement and follow cybersecurity best practices and security controls as defined by IT leadership
Track IT tickets through JIRA to completion and communicate progress, blockers, and resolution clearly
Document common issues, fixes, and procedures to improve support consistency and efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or 3+ years of full-time professional IT experience
Experience administering Active Directory or equivalent identity systems in a corporate environment
Hands-on experience with office and enterprise networking equipment such as Unifi or comparable solutions
Experience using MDM platforms to manage corporate devices and endpoints
Broad familiarity with computer hardware, operating systems, and productivity software, including Windows, macOS, Linux, and Microsoft Office
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues across devices, software, and network connectivity
Understanding of IT security best practices and basic security hygiene
Ability to perform on-site physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs

Preferred

Working knowledge of authentication and identity protocols such as Kerberos, SAML, OAuth, or similar technologies
Understanding of wireless networking technologies, security configurations, and basic network planning
Experience supporting fast-growing or engineering-focused organizations
