Responsibilities
Handle assigned general liability matters with partner and senior attorney oversight
Manage cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
Prepare, review, and respond to written discovery
Conduct legal research to support litigation strategy
Take and defend fact and expert depositions
Appear in court for hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials
Communicate directly with clients to provide timely updates and strategic guidance
Collaborate within a team structure that includes attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants
Qualification
Required
3+ years of general liability litigation experience
Open to candidates from plaintiff or defense backgrounds
Experience taking and defending depositions
Active Virginia Bar admission
Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills
Self-starter who is proactive and anticipates what needs to be done next
Demonstrated interest in long-term growth within a litigation practice
