National Defense and Intelligence Analyst Intern

Responsibilities

Provide direct support to Sponsors through technical recommendations and assistance with all-source analysis
Apply scientific methods and technical tradecraft across the full range of intelligence missions in support of global operations
Develop, assess, and recommend adoption of advanced analytic techniques, including large language models, entity extraction/resolution, audio transcription, and other data analytic tools
Participating as part of a MITRE team to define, resolve, and deliver solutions to the most pressing technical challenges faced by the IC
Support the development of a variety of analytical models to sponsor challenges
Work with teams to produce concrete short-term tangible outputs that make progress towards larger, impactful outcomes

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in the field of Public Policy, Security Studies, International Relations, Political Science or related
Must continue to be enrolled the semester following the internship
Must have sustained excellence in academic performance
Foundational knowledge in national security, data analytic techniques, including large language models, entity extraction/resolution, audio transcription, and other data analytic tools
Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance

Preferred

Current active U.S. Government clearance (TS/SCI) with poly
Experience developing, assessing, and recommending adoption of advanced data analytic techniques, including large language models, entity extraction/resolution, audio transcription, and other data analytic tools
Self-starting initiative and outstanding organizational / time management skills
Excellent written and oral communication
Strong interpersonal skills with Sponsor and with MITRE staff
