Sappi is looking for an energetic, self-motivated Electrical Engineering student to fill a Co-op position in the Engineering Department. The co-op engineer will work with Electrical Engineers to perform tasks such as CAD drafting services, document management support, and assisting in planning and implementing projects to improve production efficiency.

Responsibilities

Provide CAD drafting services, document management support, as required under the supervision of the Lead Project Engineer and/or Lead Designer

Provide layout and detailed drawings for Electrical, Instrumentation, and general engineering design

Distribution, filing and maintenance of all drawings and associated documents

Complete all company safety training

Assist engineer in planning and implementing projects to improve production efficiency

Assist others with special projects and presentations when requested

Required

Electrical Engineering student

Full-time availability for a nine month co-op starting in January 2026

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required

Completed a minimum of 2 years in an accredited engineering program

GPA of 3.0 or higher

Must have a valid driver's license with a demonstrated safe driving record

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to work with other people in a respectful, consistent and fair manner

Good organizing, planning and coordinating abilities

Creativity in creating new methods of displaying and presenting documentation in the forms of drawings, pictures, text and combinations of all of these

Preferred

Experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, Microsoft FrontPage, Autodesk ACAD, and Autodesk Inventor is desirable
