The Future Profits Program Specialist will teach financial education classes to high school seniors, coordinate with teachers, and support students in developing strong money habits.

Responsibilities

Teach multiple 50 minute classes of high school seniors during the school day
Follow FutureProfits curriculum to provide consistency and quality of content
Prepare all supporting materials in advance of class
Coordinate with classroom teachers to support or co-facilitate lessons each week
Conduct pre-and post-unit surveys to assess the progress of students in class
Establish a strong presence at assigned high school and look for ways to deepen connection to students and school(ie:attend related school events, interface with career/counseling office, facilitate FutureProfits club meetings, provide office hours for students, etc.)
Communicate with Program Manager regarding the success and progress of each class
Train and coordinate with volunteers to enhance classroom experience when appropriate
Execute logistics with school for corporate fieldtrips
Assist Program Manager with periodic check-ins with teachers, students, and principal
Recommend and provide feedback on curriculum and program improvements that lead to better outcomes
Capture success stories and communicate to Manager
Assist Program Manager in analyzing data reports and provide feedback to teachers and volunteers
Other tasks as required

Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in high school level programming or youth development
Possess a keen understanding of the unique conditions under-resourced students encounter in their daily lives
Basic understanding of finance and financial literacy
Confident and outgoing with an ability to inspire and communicate with classroom teachers and volunteers
Proven strong communication, written and oral
Finger print clearances
Valid California Driver's License
Valid TB Test
Access to a reliable form of transportation and proof of active car insurance
Strong computer skills, proficient with G-Suite, MacOS, Slack, Office

Preferred

Teaching Credential
2-5 years' experience in high school level teaching, or youth development work
Small group facilitation and individualized coaching a plus
Spanish language proficiency
Prior experience in working with underserved youth
Some graphic design skills and training
Strong interpersonal skills-interact effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, read situations well, adapt behavior to suit the situation, and develop mutually beneficial relationships
