Consumer Loan Processor
BECU is a financial institution focused on serving its members and communities. As a Consumer Loan Processor, you will guide loans from application to funding, ensuring compliance and accuracy while providing exceptional service to members.
Responsibilities
Use your thorough understanding of loan policies, lending practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure every loan is processed accurately and in compliance
Partner with members, branch teams, and underwriters to clear underwriting conditions and help secure timely final approvals
Review loan applications to make sure they’re complete, properly scored in the Loan Origination System, and fully accurate before closing
Work professionally with external vendors to resolve collateral conditions and keep loan applications moving forward
Evaluate income verification, insurance documents, titles, purchase orders, and other materials to determine creditworthiness and collateral acceptability
Complete funding and disbursements while preparing all necessary loan documents for member signatures
Monitor multiple processing queues and email inboxes to maintain service-level standards and ensure timely follow‑up
Manage several loans simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment, while responding to calls and questions with confidence
Communicate with members, Marine Title companies, and dealers to finalize terms and schedule signing appointments
Confirm that all documents are executed correctly and closing conditions are satisfied after loan completion
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of BECU’s loan products, pricing structures, forms, and required documentation
Ensure all documentation is complete, collateral is properly secured, and loans meet BECU’s standards and best interests
Evaluate BECU loan products to provide appropriate alternatives that best meet member needs
Deliver prompt, professional, and courteous service—resolving concerns with empathy and thoughtful follow‑through
Understand how Credit Union departments work together to support the Consumer Loan process
Adapt to evolving needs and support additional responsibilities as required
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Business, or equivalent work or educational experience required
Typically one year experience in Consumer Lending required
PC skills, with the ability to learn new software
Math and basic accounting skills
Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary
Preferred
Bachelors degree preferred
Verbal and written skills to effectively communicate and provide customer service
Organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks by prioritizing job responsibilities
Thorough knowledge of all RESPA, HMDA, Fair Lending, and ECOA rules and regulations
