Payroll & Benefits Coordinator
Learning Consultant is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to join their New Jersey office. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and administration of employee benefits while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll and benefits processing using ADP Workforce Now, including data imports, audits, reconciliations, and system updates
Verify and review timecards, hours worked, overtime, and leave accruals to ensure payroll accuracy
Review and validate payroll data prior to processing and resolve discrepancies as needed
Administer employee benefits, including new enrollments, life event changes, and ongoing employee support
Provide benefits counseling and respond to employee payroll and benefits questions in a timely, professional manner
Ensure payroll and benefits practices remain compliant with federal, state, and local regulations
Process and maintain garnishments, deductions, wage assignments, and related records
Assist with quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, reporting, and reconciliations
Support year-end payroll activities including audits and W-2 preparation
Support onboarding for new hires related to payroll, benefits enrollment, and timekeeping systems
Maintain accurate payroll records and collaborate with Finance on payroll account reconciliations and general ledger postings
Partner with HR and IT to resolve system issues and support payroll and benefits process improvements
Review monthly premium statements for medical, life, and other benefit plans to ensure accuracy
Maintain relationships with insurance carriers and brokers to resolve enrollment issues and ensure correct coverage
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of payroll processing experience
Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now payroll and benefits solutions
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (data entry, formatting, validation)
Solid understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage/hour compliance
High attention to detail, strong accuracy, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred
Experience supporting multi-state payroll
General ledger accounting knowledge
Payroll certification (FPC or CPP)
Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment
