Environmental Engineer, Geologist, Scientist

Lakeshore Environmental, Inc. (LEI) is actively seeking an environmental engineer, geologist, or scientist to join its Grand Haven, Michigan office. The successful candidate will undertake challenging work on a variety of projects related to water and wastewater permitting, compliance monitoring, and investigations.

Responsibilities

Field work opportunities for this position will be year-round and will likely include some out-of-town travel
Conduct field work including, but not limited to:
Wastewater, groundwater, and surface water sampling
Soil and/or sediment sampling
Drilling oversight, soil logging, soil boring, and monitoring well installation
Monitoring well development, purging and sampling, and construction oversight
Other tasks, as needed
Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports
Assist in natural resources permitting, including (but not limited to) groundwater discharge permits, and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits
Provide engineering support in wastewater treatment system analysis, design, implementation (industrial, non-municipal)
Provide support to hydrogeological studies and groundwater modeling
Focus on team project delivery, taking direction primarily from Project Managers
Work within quality, budget, schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
Communicate with Project Managers, subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
Valid driver's license and a good driving record
Ability to work outside, lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude with hands-on trouble shooting/problem solving skills
Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols
Ability to handle multiple project assignments and maintain flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines
Positive attitude, willingness to learn
Strong commitment to customer service, sales, and marketing
