Responsibilities
Handle water rights adjudications, permitting, and regulatory compliance
Advise on water rights changes, non-use issues, exchanges, and groundwater/surface water disputes
Navigate land-use and zoning processes, entitlements, and municipal approvals
Draft and review real estate agreements, regulatory filings, and client documents
Collaborate across practice groups on environmental, natural resources, and corporate matters
Provide strategic guidance to clients and support firmwide initiatives
Supervise junior attorneys and staff as needed
Qualification
Required
10+ years of meaningful experience in water law
Utah Bar membership or willingness to obtain
Exceptional academic credentials and writing ability
Ability to independently manage complex matters and interact with state/local agencies
Strong collaborative, ethical, and communicative mindset
Preferred
Familiarity with land use, zoning, environmental, or natural resources matters preferred
Utah ties valued (family, education, or lifestyle)
