Word Processing Resource Assistant

Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK Law) is looking for a versatile Word Processing Resource Assistant to join their firm. This role involves providing technical word processing services and general administrative support across the firm, including document editing, proofreading, and managing electronic files.

Responsibilities

Receives Word Processing requests from firm personnel and timely completes assignments. Requests include document conversion; editing; styles application using firm programs; document cleanup; document merging; creation of electronic binders; creation or revision of Table of Authorities and Table of Contents; digital dictation and audio transcription; and other document creation/editing functions as requested
Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation and format. Correct errors
Save completed documents in document management system
Performs general administrative duties, including entering billable time for attorneys and paralegals; created and maintains electronic files; opens, sorts and logs mail; schedules meeting and conferences; draft correspondence; prepares travel arrangements
Other duties as assigned

Microsoft WordTyping skillsWritten communicationDocument management programsLegal terminologyCustomer serviceOral communicationTime management

Required

Must possess strong technical administrative skills, including command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and have the ability to learn new technologies when released (for example, plug-ins in Word)
Excellent typing skills required
Strong written and oral communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation required
Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships, prioritize, and multitask
Excellence in customer service and time management
Ability to handle confidential information
High school diploma or GED required

Preferred

Knowledge of document management programs such as iManage a plus
Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures preferred
Law firm experience a plus
