Responsibilities

Develop and execute an internal communications strategy to align employees with company priorities and objectives
Manage messaging for key initiatives, including organizational changes, all-hands meetings, newsletters, and executive updates
Define and maintain the sector narrative, ensuring clarity and alignment across internal and external stakeholders
Lead executive communications, including speeches, talking points, presentations, and town hall content
Lead crisis communications planning and execution
Lead content strategy and governance across internal platforms (intranet, newsletters) and external channels (website, LinkedIn, X, YouTube)
Translate complex technical topics into accessible narratives for internal and external audiences
Maintain editorial standards and a unified voice across all communication platforms
Partner with Marketing Communications, Business Winning, and technical teams to prioritize and deliver high-value content
Serve as a player-coach: drive strategy while contributing hands-on to content creation
Lead and mentor a small content team producing written, visual, and digital assets
Collaborate across the sector and company to ensure consistent, timely, and high-quality messaging
Support issues, change, and sensitive communications with clear guidance and sound judgment
Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to anticipate communication needs and ensure readiness

Required

8–10 years in internal communications, executive communications, organizational communications, corporate communications, or digital content
Experience in defense, aerospace, national security, engineering, or other technical sectors
Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and project management skills
Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, compelling communications
Experience working directly with senior executives and cross-functional teams
Strong internal communications foundation with experience developing employee-facing messaging, campaigns, and initiatives
Experience managing website and social media channels, integrating content across platforms
Leadership experience guiding content creators or small teams
Ability to handle sensitive information and operate effectively in a matrixed technical environment
