Responsibilities

Collaborate with a robust interdisciplinary team to provide compassionate, high-quality palliative care to adult patients with serious illness
Provide inpatient consultation and/or ambulatory care
Engage in clinical teaching to fellows, residents, and medical students
Pursue careers in medical education, quality improvement, patient advocacy, and clinical research with collaborations across the Wexner Medical Center and The Ohio State University

Board Certified in Palliative MedicineOhio Medical LicenseDEA LicensePalliative Medicine symptom managementPalliative care educationPalliative care researchSerious illness communicationInterdisciplinary collaborationPatient advocacy

Required

Board Certified in one of the ten general specialties leading to Hospice and Palliative Medicine Certification
BC/BE for ABMS Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Ohio Medical License or able to meet the requirements
DEA License
Highly skilled in Palliative Medicine symptom management techniques and serious illness communication skills
Experience and/or interest in the clinical practice of palliative care for high acuity patients in a quaternary referral academic medical center
Experience and/or interest in palliative care education for trainees, staff, and faculty

Preferred

Experience and/or interest in palliative care research is highly desirable
Experience and/or interest in engagement at the institution, local, regional, and national level to advance the field of Palliative Medicine is highly desirable
